Breaking News: Single molecule, one million times smaller than a grain of sand, pictured for first time

It may look like a piece of honeycomb, but this lattice-shaped image is the first ever close-up view of a single molecule.
Scientists from IBM used an atomic force microscope (AFM) to reveal the chemical bonds within a molecule.
‘This is the first time that all the atoms in a molecule have been imaged,’ lead researcher Leo Gross said.
[This is incredible! How do these people do it? Awesome!]

New Video: One Infinite Loophole II
Just finished the sequel to my short film / video posted a couple of weeks ago: One Infinite Loophole. This is called One Infinite Loophole II.
Check it out!
Nothing like a good, independent short film to make your day.
Also there is nothing else out there like Captain Hazel Murphy that would make you want to jump off a 50 story building because he’s that cute.
(well…maybe not a 50 story building. Possibly a 35 story building instead. That seems more realistic.) heh.

New film preview for [ Tron: Legacy ] just came out. (2010) HD Trailer
Has anyone seen this yet? OMFG! This looks INSANE!
Tron was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid. I mean it. Whenever that movie was on TV, I would just watch it. (even if it was halfway through or just about finished. I remember playing the video game in the arcades. Still think that is one of the best all around games there ever was.
There are moments in everyone’s life growing up that certain things influence you. For me a few off the top of my head have been: (in no particular order…)
1. Watchmen (Graphic Novel)
2. Tron (Motion Picture + Game)
3. Transformers (Cartoon + Toys)
4. Caddyshack (Motion Picture)
5. Gleaming The Cube (Motion Picture) I know…Christian Slater at his best (which isn’t saying much…j/k)
5. Just about every aspect of the night sky. Even beyond the night. Even at a young age I always wondered what was beyond the beyond. The place where even nothingness has a certain gravity and mass. Blah, Blah, Blah…
What can I say…I was a freakin’ odd kid, which was a good thing. Does a normal 8-11 year old think about gravity and physics and theorize about the universe? I think the ones that become great minds do. heh.
Oh so what was I saying? lol
So yes…Tron has a deep meaning to me and I really hope this film gives me the same meaning or more (with age and perspective on my side).
BTW…the director, Joseph Kosinski, is going to remake another favorite and sci-fi film cult classic, Logan’s Run, which starred Michael York. When I heard the news on that, I almost fell over in convulsions. (well maybe not REAL convolutions…) If you haven’t seen either film, then you’re a moron…lol just kidding…
Go to netflix or your local video store and rent these flicks.
Your life will change. Mine did.

Would you believe that this video of ocean waves was done on a computer?
Beautiful. Absolutely arresting to the senses. I filmed this when I was at Ripley’s Believe It or Not.
I know. I know…it’s a tourist trap, but you have to go to one of them in your lifetime.
If you have a widescreen monitor watch it full detail. VERY COOL!

Noodles Nugget of Minutia of the Day: July 13th, 2009
Rise n’ Shine! It’s Monday July 13th, 2009. Noodles’ Nugget of Minutia of the Day is: Absolute Zero is the coldest temperature that can be possibly acheived in the entire universe. (at least for now.) It is a theoretical number because as of this posting no one has ever reached this magic number. Scientists have come extremely, and ridiculously close to it, (in 1999 rhodium metal was cooled to 100 picokelvin, or 1 tenth of 1 billionth of a degree Kelvin) but not ABSOLUTE ZERO. It is so incredibly difficult to cool something down to that point. ABSOLUTE ZERO according to the major 3 temperature scales are: -459.67 (Fahrenheit), -273.15 (Celsius), and 0 (Kelvin). At this temperature atoms become so still that they start to have an identity complex…so to speak. Instead of the total atom acting like 1 atom, the sub-atomic particles within atom behave in a bizarre manner as if like each particle is the atom itself. In 1924, Albert Einstein and Satyenda Nath Bose came up with a theory that when atoms are cooled down to such a degree that their entire state of being collapses and quantum effects would start. Essentially a new state of matter is formed! Sounds crazy…and it is! When this happens even light can be slowed down to the speed of a bicycle. It boggles the mind. I highly suggest and recommend watching this special from NOVA on Hulu. It’s entitled ABSOLUTE ZERO. Here is the link: ABSOLUTE ZERO
Watch it now…and thank me later.

And You Thought the iPhone Couldn’t Get Any Better…Until…
Until now…
I am always amazed by real ingenuity and the spirit of creativity? I thought that I had seen it all.
You know something, I consider myself an aficionado on all things iPhone and Apple, but this has completely blown my mind away. I always try to find the odd things out there that no one is really paying attention to. This one takes the ticket as one of the strangest and innovative concept yet for the iPhone. Is the suspense too much to handle already? lol
The bizarre device for the phone is not a downloadable game or app from iTunes App Store, or a cool new protective case in chartreuse or puce (which reminds me…what color is puce? Does it even exist? lol). No, it is not another portable charger for the iPhone. Nor is it some stupid stand for your iPhone for the table. (Yeah, like anyone REALLY ever wants to watch a WHOLE movie on an iPhone and it has to be on a table.)
Give up?
Well, feast your iPhonic lusty eyes on these. Your life will never be the same. heh.

Stumbled upon the website, [ http://www.usbfever.com ] late yesterday afternoon and was floored by this and similar lens that you can actually magnetically stick on front of the camera lens of your iPhone. I cannot call this a review for the sheer virtue that I physically have not been able to use this lens. If you were wondering, this isn’t the ONLY lens that USBFEVER sells. There are a bunch of them.

Feeling compelled, I just had to post and share these images and lens with all of you.
I am sure most of you will probably say that there is an APP already that can digitally recreate any of these lens effects in the iPhone itself. True, but imagine the real “huh?” factor you could have at a party? It’ll drive people nuts.
I’ll be putting in an order for 1 of these bad boys to test it out and see what the experience is like. My review will follow shortly after.
